How Modernity alters our life

We get into our car, push a couple of pedals and get to our destination.
We go inside an elevator, press a button and it takes us up or down buildings. When get a headache, we swallow a pill and when we want water, we simple open the tap.
With time we get used to this comfortable way of living and luxury moves into the realm of necessities.
There is nothing wrong with a comfortable lifestyle, except that it indiscriminately blunt our ability to take action, to tread unknown paths, to embrace challenges or to be at ease with uncertainty.
As modern conveniences become normalized across all segments of society, there occurs a gradual transition in how such "amenities" become standard components of everyday life.
This recategorization reflects a new status quo where our expectations have risen to new heights.
The ubiquity of these "contraptions" comes at a steep price as it creates a life where responsabilities and undertakings receive diminished attention, thus creating a certain distance between us and our lives turning us almost into the passive observers of our existense rather than fully engaged individuals.
