Poetry and its effects on our thinking and life

Poetry is one of the writing style that combines unusual, disparate and sometimes conflicting elements into a cohesive mass that takes us through a wide range of feeling and emotions.
Metaphors are pushed to their edge, bringing out simple ideas under a new and colorful lights.
We marvel at the verses as they take us into an alternative beautiful world, where horses, water, rocks, and humans are endowed with special life forces, where roles are inverted and inanimate object come to life.
Metaphors in poetry and in other forms of art, force our brain to make connections that are not normally there and to cross the hazy boundaries that separate the logical and the imaginary.
These new brain connections in our brains get strengthened as we strive to merge discordant elements, the combination of which wouldn't make any sense in our reality.
This process help us with our daily lives as we start coming up with astute, unconventional and elegant solution to life's issues. Our thinking process veers off its linear, logical path and start to explore the sinuous route of creative, lateral thinking.
