Fear, resistence and focus

Fear of loss, fear of poverty or fear of death. Fear gets our attention, we channel our focus towards it as we try to come up with ways to conquer it, or at least to tame it and mitigate its effects on us.
Fear is a feeling, we can bring it to life by thought alone, conjuring up sordid images and horrifying memories.
The more we try to fight it, the more resistance we create, the more power we give to it.
Resistance emboldens and strengthens our "adversaries". When we force ourselves to float in a body of water, we sink, when we strenuously try to reach the bottom, we float.
Nature is very nonchalant in its functioning. Water takes the shape of its vessel, soft branches sway in the wind and the stiff ones snap as they offer more resistance to the unruly forces of nature.
Our brains gives more time and energy to our dominant thoughts, be it joy, despair, opulence or lack.
With time, it creates more neural pathways dedicated to these feelings making it easier for us to bring them back to the forefront, thus giving them center-stage spotlight within our lives.
Faith, not courage, is the opposite of fear. It is the unconditional, unsustantiated trust in the fact that "things are going to be fine".
Most people shove it aside or try to logically understand it before adopting it as a way of life, some unquestioningly embrace it and live a more peaceful, fulfilling life.
