Comfort, technology and their insidious effect

The new contraptions and technological advancements made our lives easier, and allowed us to have more free time at our disposal.
How do we use this time, and how this acquired comfort affects us?
The introduction of such machines left us with more free time, and for the most of us, no clue as how to use it.
This gave rise to a plethora of companies whose sole purpose is offering us entertainment, and help assuage the feeling of boredom generated by that newly created void.
The ubiquity of cinemas, gaming rooms and amusement parks is just the tip of the iceberg.
Entertainment companies became very creative in occupying that unused portion of our lives using crafty marketing techniques.
With the least amount of effort and with a simple computer or a phone, we have unlimited access to a bottomless pit of games, movies, people we could communicate with, items we could buy, and food we could order.
That created a bunch of awkward asocial human being who are struggling with basic communications skills and find it difficult to fit within teams or groups.
This manufactured loneliness has a huge toll on people's mental health and well-being.
Devices, technologies are here to help us, they are just tools and they should never be used as a crutch or replacement for our abilities.
We could use the GPS when the situation calls for it, and we could roam around relying on our sense of orientation, we could use the convenience of a car when we are rushing, and we could walk on a slow day, we could look for quick information on the internet, and we could also leisurely browse books in a library.
Our brain and body are economical in their working, they tend to get rid of any ability, skill or muscle if not used.
To keep, our skills, abilities, bodies, brains and immune systems from degenerating, we need to give them the workout they need by temporarily ditching technology and relying on natural potential.
