Streamlining of societies : Sacrificing uniqueness for the sake of homogeneity

The priotrities of cultures differ widely in what is considered important and what is deemed secondary.
Long lasting events, rules and conflicts can shape the development of a society and dictate the direction it takes.
There is, however, a fixed basis to each culture. This foundation is made up of traditions and beliefs that are deeply rooted in our human psyche. We soak up these principles unconsciously from a very early age through the interaction with our immediate environment.
These principles constitute the building blocks of our identity.
Trying to merge all cultures into one uniform mass, would deprive people of their uniqueness.
It would cause all kinds of emotional issues, turning us into a bland congregation of people who think like each other, live like each other, while being so violently different from each other.
This attempt at homogenization would only work on a the surface giving us the illusion of uniformity, while major differences would still lay deep down untouched by this attempt to sacrifice diversity for the sake of uniformity.
These kind of pernicious endeavour at streamlining societies for the sole purpose of being able to easily manage them, contribute to a vast degree to the wearying out of the fabric of society where everything is dilluted in an attempt to be palatable to all the tastes.
We end up with a constellation of individuals tolerating each other rather than happily thriving as a group made up of a jumble of varying identities, personalities and dogmas.
