Our rush towards more : The cause of our demise

In recent years and in a feverish quest to make their investors happy, companies turned heavily to southern countries to manufacture their products on the cheaper side to be able to garner more profit.
Their experience in some of these countries shocked them, since in same instances, workers didn't show up for work after receiving their salary. These same workers reappeared a month or a couple of weeks later when money was
again needed.
Some of the workers were asked about their strange behavior and the response was disturbingly simple,
"We have enough money, so we don't have to work anymore, we relax and enjoy quality time with friends and family members. when money is needed again, we go back to work".
That "simplistic" approach governed our ancestors lives for a long time, before fear and greed started eroding our faith in the bountiful supply of the universe.
Working for a soul-destroying amount of time is a new phenomenon, a result of the heavy industrialization of the manufacturing process and the rush to over-production. It resulted in more waste, over-stuffed bellies, sick bodies and an unbridled rush towards all manners of entertainment.
It also sowed in us the seed of the unhealthy habit of leading bustling, crammed and eventful days.
The thought of spending the majority of our days lounging away hardly engaged in any task makes us queasy.
Stress is the result of our maladaptive lifestyle, it is the result of our senseless rush towards, more, more of everything and anything.
This blunted our senses, overloaded and overwhelmed our nervous system and caused it to send our bodies distorted message that cause all kinds of illnesses, diseases and discomforts.
