Brain strain: The bane of our time

Our brain is not designed for long stressful hours of strenuous work. Animals in the wild hunt when they hungry, when satiated they lounge around, take long naps or groom themselves and each other.
Our ancestors hunted or picked plants when they needed food, the remaining time was dedicated to play, relaxation and socializing.
Modernity to us means a better life, better future for the kids, faster development and the appeal of a peaceful retired life. All these motivational hooks push us to work harder, delaying our uncertain gratification further ahead.
Life happens in the present, it needs to be balanced with enough play, work, spirituality and socializing.
These elements should be the main component of each day, not to be postponed until a later date.
Our unbalanced life led us to have levels of stress only observed as a reaction to imminent, life-threatening danger in the animal kingdom.
Our bodies can handle these stress levels for very short periods of time, which should be followed by copious amounts of rest to reset the body back to its normal state.
Stress is the silent killer, roaming the streets under different guises, looking for the next overworked victim among the fatigued herds.
Strain causes resiatance and puts uneeded burden that tends to shorten our lives and lowers its quality to the level of the beast.
