Fleeting pleasure versus long-lasting happiness

We acquire all kinds of objects to reward or entertain ourselves. These objects have a different values within different societies.
A fancy sports car would be worthless in the middle of a desert, as would a camel in a bustling city.
We tend to forget that value is highly subjective, and we spend an inordinate amount of time pursuing things that would only give us temporary joy which would only last insofar as their novelty hasn't worn off.
Each purchase we make has a social and a status value attached to it.
We have managed to develop in our social consciousness, through exposure to endless and clever marketing strategies a societal value for everything.
Through this process, we came to accept certain prices as normal even if the manufacturing value of the objects they are tied to is way lower.
Happiness is a state of mind that is not tied to anything in particular. If you were to utter the phrase, "I am happy!" in front of a group of acquaitances, you would be met with expecting eyes, waiting for the "because" clause.
Happiness is you, by yourself in the middle of nowhere feeling intense joy for no reason at all.
We consider laughing without a cause, or smiling without a motive a sign of mental instability.
“What is so funny?”. We have all been confronted with this sentence at some point in our lives. It seems to indicate that laughter and happiness have their place and time to be "appropriately" expressed.
We have developed very tacit rules that govern our happiness. We have forgotten that happiness is our default state, and that sadness, stress, or anger are all perversions that should be eradicated from our lives.
All the perverted, negative states, be it fear, anger, jealousy, or envy put a lot of superfluous strain on our bodies, and minds, and could be the main contributor to of a vast amount of illnesses.
Pleasure is a fleeting sensation that our brain generates to make an experience enjoyable so that we would be more inclined to repeat it in the future.
Sexual relashioships are enjoyable. The pleasure and the joy they give us, greatly facilitates the task of spreading our genes, and having offspring.
Nature also uses the feeling of pleasure to point us towards the right food , and steer us away from the harmful one.
Our parents use it to imprint the right behavior in our brains, and later our teachers use it towards the same ends.
Pleasure is temporary by nature, it uses up lot of energy and can't be sustained for long periods of time.
Balanced happiness, on the other a hand doesn't tax our system, and can last forever.
It's the state where fear, anger, and envy are absent, a state where our system is balanced and fonctions at its best without friction or resistence.
