The GPS system, other services and Us

The GPS system blunted our ability to remember itineraries, and navigate mazes of intertwining streets. That tools was invented to facilitate certain tasks so we could focus on more complex ones. When used extensively, appliances like the GPS make us mentally, and physically lethargic.
Food delivery and laundry services for example, could be a great help when our schedule is too crowded, or in case of an emergency.
They are lifesavers for those who may not have enough time to prepare food or run the washing machine in time to have clean clothes for the next day.
These aids should not become a quick fix to be relied on at all times.
Abilities like the muscles, if not nurtured or used, atrophy, leaving us empty shells, helpless at the mercy of a program inside a metal box or a service offered by a third-party.
